Hotels & Car Reservations –You Need 15% Extra Balance
Hotels and car companies hold an additional 15% over your bill amount. This hold amount remains in place for 10 days. Your card may be declined if you don’t have sufficient balance.
Gas Stations – Pay Inside at the Counter
Gas stations charge a temporary 20% as a hold amount when you pay outside at the pump. If your card doesn’t have enough, the transaction will be declined. Always pay inside at the counter if you’re using a gift card.
